Dominican Republic Mission Trip

When will we be going?

  • June 3-9, 2017
  • A deposit of $250 is due by Sunday, January 29, to secure your spot on the trip.

Who is this trip for?

  • This trip is for EVERYONE!
  • They provide training and ministry options for people of all ages.

Who will we be going with?

  • Tuscaloosa County Baptist Association and Rain Down Global Missions. Rain Down Global Missions Mission Statement: To make disciples of Christ by equipping leaders, encouraging believers, and empowering churches.
  • Our church will work alongside a local church and organization in the D.R. to assist them in fulfilling the Great Commission in their community.

What will we be doing?

  • Ministry options are directly based on unique abilities, talents, and desires of our group.
  • Potential ministry opportunities: Orphanages, Vacation Bible School, Construction, Pastor Training, Water Filter Distribution, Evangelical Outreach, Prayer Walker, Medical, Dental, Prison Ministry. (We cannot guarantee any of these opportunities, but will work with these organizations to provide the widest variety of ministry projects we can.)

What will our week look like?

  • The following is a sample itinerary, but it is always important to remain flexible as plans can change at any moment.
  • Saturday: Fly in in the afternoon, orientation in the evening.
  • Sunday through Wednesday: Church service and/or work projects in the morning, work projects in the afternoon, church service and/or debrief in the evening.
  • Thursday: Work projects in the morning, free time in the afternoon, final debrief in the evening.
  • Friday: Pack up in the morning, fly out in the afternoon

What will the trip cost?

  • The total cost of the trip is currently $1,500 per person, which includes all in-country costs and flights.
  • A deposit of $250 is due by Sunday, January 29, to secure your spot on the trip.
  • Suggested payment schedule: January 29 ($300), February 26 ($400), March 26 ($400), April 23 ($400)

What will be provided/included in the cost?

  • All in-country needs will be met. This includes lodging, transportation, translators, and meals.
  • Training before and throughout the trip.
  • Orientation when we arrive to prepare the week ahead, as well as, a final debrief to help learn and prepare for putting what we have learned into action in our own community.
