HURRICANE RELIEF EFFORTS • What are we doing to help?
Thanks to the continued financial generosity of the Calvary family, we are already able to provide on-going help to relief efforts for Hurricane Dorian.
Your Unified Budget Gifts
A percentage of all gifts given to our Unified Budget go toward the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program. Two recipients of that funding are the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and the Baptist Global Response (BGR). NAMB is providing counseling and support for people with loss, in addition to support for the local churches in the impacted areas to help their communities. BGR & NAMB work together though the Send Relief program to provide physical relief for people, such as food and emergency shelter.
Your Acts 1:8 Fund Gifts
A percentage of all gifts given to the Acts 1:8 Fund also support relief efforts. Three of our Acts 1:8 Partners are already working directly with the relief efforts. The Annie Armstrong Offering provides additional support to NAMB. The Myers-Mallory Offering goes to support State Disaster Ministry Relief. The World Hunger/Global Relief Offering is providing food. All of these Baptist efforts work in coordination with each other and other providers such as the Red Cross and local governments.
If you would like to give additional gifts directly to hurricane relief through Calvary, you can also do so by clicking the link below. The Finance Committee has approved for half of the gifts to be given to the North American Mission Board for the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief efforts in the United States, and the other half to go to the Red Cross with a designation for use in the Bahamas. If you prefer your gift be given fully to either NAMB or the Red Cross rather than divided, please indicate that in the memo line on the link below.
