Worship Ministry

Calvary’s Worship Ministry offers something for everyone in your family. Whether you sing, play an instrument, dance, or know tech, there is a place for you to use your talent for the Lord at Calvary Tuscaloosa.

Whether singing an ancient hymn or modern worship song, we pray that God will find the kind of true worshiper He describes in John 4:23-24 when Jesus told the Samaritan woman, “Yet a time is coming and now has come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”

Worship Choir

At Calvary we desire to make worship a lifestyle–not a Sunday morning event!  The Worship Choir leads our 8:30 am service each Sunday, and other services from time to time.  Membership is open to anyone 18 and up.  Rehearsal is Wednesday evening at 6:00pm in the choir room.  The Worship Choir sings ALL types of music, in order to meet the needs of our diverse congregation.

Instrumentalists who want to use their gifts and talents in worship leadership are given the opportunity to play in various ways at Calvary.  Instrumentalists are used in all of our services, and in special presentations throughout the year.   Strings, Brass, Woodwinds, Drums, and guitars are needed to help develop Calvary’s comprehensive worship styles.  Contact Jeff Blevins or Alan Henderson to find your place of ministry.

Youth Performance

The Calvary Youth Performance Ministry gives students (Grades 7-12) a place of artistic expression in the area of worship leadership.  Singing, acting, and dancing are combined to give every student a place of service.  We perform at Calvary, in Tuscaloosa, and as a part of our Summer Mission Trip.

Children's Choir

The Calvary Children’s Choir meets once a month, on Sunday evening from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.  All children (grades 1-6) are invited to attend.  We have music, mission projects, Bible stories, recreation, and prayer.  Our highly trained leaders use beautiful contemporary music to give the children an opportunity to lead worship several times per year.  The Calvary Children’s Choir sings on Mother’s Day, Christmas At Calvary, and other times during the year.
