Prayer & Fasting Strategy Gathering | November 3, 5:30 PM

Join us for this time of worship, prayer and testimonies.

We are encouraging a corporate fast from noon until after this gathering. Fasting is abstaining from anything natural and normal for supernatural purposes, ie., food, sports, electronics, etc. We encourage everyone in our Calvary family to give up something during that time in order to help them focus on prayer and scripture.

How to Pray

For those looking for additional guidance on how to pray during these four weeks, we offer you this daily list of scriptures and prayers to help you in your journey.

Day One • Monday, October 7

Daily Scripture: Matthew 6:33 • “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

Daily Prayer: God, we seek you first & foremost to define the vision for our church. We want to align with Your heart & what matters to You. Help us hear Your voice above all noise & distraction.

Day Two • Tuesday, October 8

Daily Scripture: Ephesians 6:10-11 • “Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.”

Daily Prayer: Thank you, God, that our strength & power rests in You. We pray for protection for our leadership team, for our church & for our community, & that the enemy’s strategies will not advance. Bring unity, grace, power & renewal to the ministry you have called us to.

Day Three • Wednesday, October 9

Daily Scripture: Jeremiah 33:3 • “Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.”

Daily Prayer: Lord, we know You know all things. Lead & guide our process, & teach us what we do not know or do not practice well. May this ministry be Your ministry. May we simply keep in step with You, relying on your wisdom.

Day Four • Thursday, October 10

Daily Scripture: John 3:16 • “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Daily Prayer: We believe these words sum up the central message of the Gospel. We want to proclaim it clearly & with Your power. We also know that the people in our community will connect with this message in different ways. Give us wisdom to communicate it by the power of the Holy Spirit in ways that people will hear & receive. May many lives be transformed by Your love.

Day Five • Friday, October 11

Daily Scripture: Ephesians 3:20-21 • “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.”

Daily Prayer: God, open our minds & hearts to Your vision for Your Church that endures for all generations. Help us to not be limited by our own fears or doubts. Unify us in Your love & allow us to dream Your dreams for our community.

Day Six • Saturday, October 12

Daily Scripture: Matthew 28:5-7 • “Don’t be afraid!’ he said. ‘I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.’”

Daily Prayer: You have conquered sin & death. You have given us the message to go & tell. Help us remember what we are all about. Use our lives as testimonies to Your presence, power, forgiveness & grace. Thank you, Lord, for loving us enough to come for us. May we grow in our love for you by serving others.

Day Seven • Sunday, October 13

Daily Scripture: Colossians 3:12-14 • “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tender-hearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.

Daily Prayer: Lord, clothe our leadership team in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, & love. Give us deep love for each other, Your Church & the ministry You’ve put before us. Throughout this process, teach us to make allowance for each other’s faults. Refine us into the image of Christ.

Day Eight • Monday, October 14

Daily Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 • “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

Daily Prayer: Heavenly Father, we give You thanks for all You have done for us and for the opportunities before us. Help us develop a deep sense of gratitude for your mercy, for your presence, for your love and for your plan.

Day Nine • Tuesday, October 15

Daily Scripture: Luke 10:2 • “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

Daily Prayer: Lord, guide us as we pray for the ministry of this church. We ask that you would raise up and send out workers into the harvest field. Help us to equip them to be prepared and empowered to serve and to bless. May we not miss the harvest you have placed right in front of us.

Day Ten • Wednesday, October 16

Daily Scripture: James 1:5 • “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”

Daily Prayer: Guide us in all of our prayers, preparations, conversation and implementations. We trust You are the builder of our house; we are simply Your workers. Thank you for all you are doing in our midst. Open our eyes to see your heart for this place.

Day Eleven • Thursday, October 17

Daily Scripture: Psalm 100:4-5 • “Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.”

Daily Prayer: God, help us remember that You have been faithful in all past generations and You will continue to be faithful in our generation. We give You thanks and praise for all You have done! We offer our lives as living sacrifices to serve You and Your people.

Day Twelve • Friday, October 18

Daily Scripture: Psalm 16:11 • “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.”

Daily Prayer: You, God, are the provider of all things. In You we find joy and fulfillment. We seek You and Your presence, personally, and for this church. May we walk the path of life by Your guidance.

Day Thirteen • Saturday, October 19

Daily Scripture: Matthew 5:14-16 • “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

Daily Prayer: Lord, we thank You that Your light shines through Your children. We pray that You would first shine in us, to fill us with Your holiness and expose anything that needs to be removed. Then we pray that You would shine through us and let our lives be a reflection of Your amazing grace and love.

Day Fourteen • Sunday, October 20

Daily Scripture: Titus 3:5-8 • “He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.”

Daily Prayer: God, help us remember where we’ve come from. You saved us not because of the righteous things we have done, but because of Your mercy and grace. Thank you for the power and renewal we receive through Your Holy Spirit. Fill us with joy, peace and hope, confident of the promises You have made to us through Christ.

Day Fifteen • Monday, October 21

Daily Scripture: Psalm 127:1 • “Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.”

Daily Prayer: Heavenly Father, we do not seek to build anything apart from You. We seek your protection and your guidance. We do not want any glory for ourselves, or any success of man’s invention. Let us not waste our effort! Align our work to your design.

Day Sixteen • Tuesday, October 22

Daily Scripture: 1 John 3:16 • “We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.”

Daily Prayer: Thank you for giving us the definition of love—to serve and even lay down one’s life for another. Teach us to serve with passion and power, in unity and grace. Reveal the ways you have called us to love our brothers and sisters

Day Seventeen • Wednesday, October 23

Daily Scripture: Galatians 2:20 • “My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Daily Prayer: God, teach us what these words mean, that by the power of your Holy Spirit we have a new life, lived by faith in the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us. May our words, actions, thoughts and experiences be immersed in this truth that the world would see You in us.

Day Eighteen • Thursday, October 24

Daily Scripture: 1 John 4:7-8 • “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Daily Prayer: May we first know the power of Your love for us, Lord, and in turn love others as You have loved us. Focus our hearts outward, to show your love to the people around us who have never experienced it

Day Nineteen • Friday, October 25

Daily Scripture: 1 Peter 5:2-3 • “Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example.”

Daily Prayer: Lord, thank You for the people you have entrusted to our leadership. We don’t take lightly the calling you’ve given us to watch over them. Give us wisdom as we seek to lead them towards Your vision. May we be motivated by love in all we do.

Day Twenty • Saturday, October 26

Daily Scripture: Psalm 118:24-25 • “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Please, Lord, please save us. Please, Lord, please give us success.”

Daily Prayer: We give You thanks and rejoice that we can be a part of Your plan. We ask for Your anointing and grace to do what You have called us to do.

Day Twenty-one • Sunday, October 27

Daily Scripture: Hebrews 11:1 • “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”

Daily Prayer: Grow our faith, God. Help us see what You see, and take the next steps You lead us to take with confidence and assurance of Your wisdom.

Day Twenty-two • Monday, October 28

Daily Scripture: Luke 9:23 • “Then he said to the crowd, ‘If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.’”

Daily Prayer: Lord, we know the call to be a disciple is an “all in” call to deny our natural inclinations and take up a cross of challenge. But following You is nothing short of amazing. We lose our lives to You anew today, and we trust You to keep us even as you call us out in faith.

Day Twenty-three • Tuesday, October 29

Daily Scripture: Romans 10:14-15 • “But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, ‘How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!’”

Daily Prayer: Heavenly Father, we exist to bring Your good news to the world and to live out that good news in all we do as witnesses of Your redeeming power. Thank You for choosing to use broken vessels to bring the grace of Your love for broken people. May we not be afraid of our weaknesses, but give them to You that You might be our strength.

Day Twenty-four • Wednesday, October 30

Daily Scripture: Hebrews 10:23 • “Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”

Daily Prayer: Help us to hold unswervingly to the hope we have in You and Your promises. Thank You for being faithful. May we find our rest in You.

Day Twenty-five • Thursday, October 31

Daily Scripture: Psalm 143:8 • “Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.”

Daily Prayer: Thank you for showing us the way to go. Today we entrust our lives to you anew. We trust in Your grace—that it is sufficient. We trust in Your strength—that it will be enough for us to accomplish the tasks you entrust to us. We trust in Your presence—that it is and will be our full joy. Thank you for providing our every need.

Day Twenty-six • Friday, November 1

Daily Scripture: Romans 13:8 • “Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.”

Daily Prayer: May Your love flow into our hearts today and always, and may we continue to look for ways to love others and by so doing, fulfill Your whole law. May we settle other matters quickly so that no root of bitterness can grow. May we live and grow in Your grace in the days ahead.

Day Twenty-Seven • Saturday, November 2

Daily Scripture: Matthew 4:19-20 • “Jesus called out to them, ‘Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!’ And they left their nets at once and followed him.”

Daily Prayer: As we begin this adventure, we ask for the courage to “leave our nets” and follow You wherever You would lead us. Give us excitement and anticipation for new revelations. And most of all, give us a deep love for the people you’ve called us to reach.

 Day Twenty-eight • Sunday, November 3

Daily Scripture: Isaiah 43:19 • “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

Daily Prayer: You are all about making things new and bringing new life. We continue to ask for Your power and presence to bring new life to our church and community. Bring healing, refreshment, grace, restoration and transformation as we seek Your plan and purpose for our congregation.
