Growth Groups

Calvary exists to be an all-inclusive community of loving people living out the story of God. To help us accomplish this mission, Growth Groups were designed as short-term classes (meeting anywhere from 5-12 weeks) for anyone who wants to know more about God, His story, and how they fit into it within the context of a learning community.

Our hope is, in the end, as your knowledge for God increases, your love for Him grows; and as your love for Him grows you can’t help but become a person living out the story of God in your church, workplace, community, and home!

How to Study the Bible

1/24 – 2/28 | Wednesdays 6 – 7pm Room 252 | Lindsey Jacobi + Jeremy Horton

Are you new to studying Scripture or want to grow in the “how” of reading the Bible? Our desire is for you to experience the transformational power of God’s Word.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to have a devotional life, but I have no idea where to start,” or, “I’ve tried time and time again and I just can’t get it to stick.” Then this is the class for you!

Join us for this 6-week class where we will walk through how the Bible is put together, its various themes and writing styles used, and help you better understand the processes of observation, interpretation, and application of Scripture and its impact on your daily life.

Gospel Conversations

1/24 – 2/28Wednesdays 6 – 7pm Room 254 | Jim & Evelyn Sexton + Carrie Ball

The Bible compels us to go and share the gospel with those who don’t know. The command is simple, but it can often feel uncomfortable for Christians to have open conversations about God in their spheres of influence. We ask questions like:

What is the gospel, exactly? How can I share my story with my neighbor, friend, or family member? How do I even enter into the conversation without it being awkward?”

To help us overcome these mental hurdles, we want provide practical advice, and help you become more comfortable in starting and continuing Gospel conversations with people in your various spheres of influence

3/28 – 4/25 | Wednesdays 6 – 7pm Room 254 | Alan & Kaye Heins

Part of being a healthy disciple is being able to manage and steward the resources God has given you with wisdom.

The hope of this class is to help you develop solid money management skills by discussing a variety of tools to help you better understand financial stewardship, and how to apply the principles in your life… whether you have $10 or $10 million!

In the end, we want to equip, inspire and challenge you to live with an eternal mindset by embracing a life of stewardship and generosity.
