We exist to make disciples of all nations.
Calvary's Vision Statement
An all-inclusive community of loving people living out the story of God…
We desire to be obedient to Jesus by making disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:18-20). We believe it has always been the good intention of God to bless His children so they can be a blessing to the whole world (Gen. 12:2-3). We desire to share the gospel to anyone who will listen, both with our words and with our lives, because we believe that it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes (Rom. 1:16).
We desire to be like Jesus by being a part of a group of believers who become family (Matt. 12:48-50). We believe it has always been the good intention of God for people to not be alone, but to live their lives in the context of community (Gen. 2:18-22). We desire to follow the example of Scripture by meeting together and sharing life with one another, both in our homes and in the church (Acts 2:42-47).
Of Loving People
We desire to follow the command of Jesus by loving one another just as He has loved us because it is by this that people will know that we belong to Him (John 13:34-35). We believe it has always been the good intention of God for His children to love Him fully and thereby be compelled to love the world in His Name (Deut. 6:5). We desire to love each other deeply, serving one another and forgiving one another, so that we may have true unity (I Pet. 4:8-10).
We desire to live out the teaching of Jesus by seeking His will, His way, His Word and His work before we seek our own (Matt. 6:33). We believe it has always been the good intention of God for us to act in a way that demonstrates His just and merciful character and to spend our lives walking with Him (Mic. 6:8). We desire for our faith to not just be sung about or taught about but to be practically lived out in our everyday ordinary lives (Rom. 12:1, James 1:22).
The Story of God
We desire to know the story of God, as revealed through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus (John 1:1-17). We believe it has always been the good intention of God to reveal Himself to people through the narrative of the Bible (Gen. 1:1-2). We believe that this story is not an old tale in an old book, but rather that it is eternally living and active. As such, it can have incredible effects on our hearts and lives as we find ourselves in the redemptive story that will find fulfillment when Christ comes again and His Kingdom is fully revealed (Heb. 4:12, Rev. 21:3-6).
