About Deaf Ministry
Calvary Tuscaloosa has one of the longest continual Deaf Ministries established in Southern Baptist churches in Alabama. The ministry was started by Naomi Scott in 1967 and has provided Interpreted services as well as Bible Study and fellowships for the Deaf community in the Tuscaloosa area since the establishment of the ministries.
When we meet
Sunday Group: At 10AM we have an ASL group led by our deaf members in ASL.
Sunday Service: 11AM service in interpreted in-person and online for our ASL community.
Wednesday Group: We have a life group that meets at 7PM. We offer a Bible Study in ASL as well as an opportunity to learn conversation Sign Language to church members and the community.
